Warmest Greetings,

The best part of this paper, for me, was that it reminded me of reading about Quantum Physics, or multiple realities existing simultanously, or heck, why not, even aliens. I especially love Clang, "a cellular language , which makes programming easier". From Finland, read Gzz in a Nutshell
"Zzstructure is a way of representing the structure of information. Zzstructure is very different, for example the concepts of 'file', 'folder' and 'application' are abandoned. Because of this a bit of fantasy, creativity and an ability to forget previous knowledge is needed in order to understand Zzstructure. A Zzstructure structure consists of cells and dimensions. A cell is the basic unit of information of a Zzstructure structure."

That stare he gave Donald Trump was a total scream.)

I Am An Orkutaholic
:: Thursday, January 29, 2004 ::
Question. What breeds faster? Rabbits or Orkuts?
Answer: Orkuts
When I was first invited to be a friend of an Orkut, I thought to myself, "Oh no. Another Yahoo! Group. More email. More clubs. More hours in my day blabbing with friends." So I waited. The pressure grew as more and more invitations to join came in.
Okay, I was born in the Year of Dog. We're very loyal. How could I say no to my friends?
So I joined by accepting an invitation from Bill Slawski, a long-time friend. Within a minute I also accepted the other invitations and in the next hour invited more of my friends, joined communities, indicated who I admired, who I trust, who is cool and who is sexy and I had the option to share a bit about myself and decide who gets to know.
An hour after that I realized that Orkut, which is still in BETA, may be feeling a bit frisky or is about to blow up the servers with all the attention its getting (since Google pulled it away and then threw it back out for everyone to play with some more.)
I think I found bug.

Connected with 10866 people? My Christmas shopping list is getting scarier by the second.
Okay. Onto some news:
Sincere CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Ridings and Crew at SearchGuild on their first year anniversary. It's likely not too well known that Chris is adamant about donating profits to charity. Well done.
In case you missed this one, this too is in BETA and also fun to play with: Knowledge Test from SEO Consultants.com.
If you haven't been to SEO Consultants lately, it's time to return. One look at the left navigation bar on the SEO Glossary page tells you this is a "must bookmark" site.
That wraps it up. See you in Orkut-land.
<<Added later: If you want to see something amazing, and you're an Orkut Blog member, join the Blog Community and watch it load the over 500 community members (at this second) at the bottom of your screen. It's a nice cheap thrill. >>

Usability is like marriage.
:: Wednesday, January 28, 2004 ::
Sooner or later, it will be tested.
It's always amazed me, back when I provided search engine optimization services, how many times a client didn't bother to work on their website to make it sell once it was found. Even today, with all the various methods used by SEO/SEM's to help websites rank better in SERPS, none of them is tested for what happens after that first click occurs.
Sure, some people get server traffic stats and read them to figure out what engines came to find their web pages, not what people came to use their website.
The good news is more and more folks are learning the value of making web pages come up for certain keywords and making sure the website visitor was satisfied with what they saw and found once they got there.
This is why usability is the leading forum topic at Cre8asiteForums. Most people consider Cre8asiteForums an "SEO Forum" but we never wanted it to be soley focused on that. We wanted to provide a forum where people can come for help at the very beginning stages of web design and not be intimidated or embarressed to ask questions. Hence, Site Planning and Preparation.
We also push the final stages and testing designs during the build process. Website Hospital is enormously popular for free testing and peer reviews.
But my favorite place is about a topic many people are just learning about. That's the Usability Forum. Moderator Bill Slawski gathered up for us a list of last year's best posts in that forum. It's called Usability Threads in 2003
Among the hot ones were:
What is the best text style for web design?
"This thread spawned a great dialogue involving system fonts, favorite fonts, typography, readability, alternate print pages, and CSS print style sheet versions, and some great links about optimum sizes and fonts for design."
An Interaction Design Forum? desirability, captology, etc
"Forum member DCrx introduced us to some topics that we'd actually like to see more of here in the forums, including the study of computers as Persuasive Technology, or captology; desirability, and interaction design. I know I've been referring a lot of people to the Stanford Persuasive Technologies pages, especially when the topic of credibilty arises. How does your design influence and persuade people?"
Splash page Usability
"They often are a topic of scorn and ridicule, but we sort of dared here to ask, "Could there be positive reasons to use a splash page?" And, you know what? We found some."
What is the Return on Investment (ROI) for usability?
"A topic that I'm guessing will show up at least once a year in any forum involving usability. some great points, and some useful links."

The Mechanics of An Update or Help My Site Is Gone!
:: Monday, January 26, 2004 ::
"Help my website is gone!" seems to be the crazed screaming mantra repeated in every SEO related forums on the planet by those who rely on one search engine for all their marketing. So, I decided to run my own test by typing in "Cre8pc sex goddess" and sure enough, my reputation is still intact and the SERPS list me as number one. So how come I'm doing fine and others are crying in their Fruit Loops?
Well, for starters, anyone who is not a god or goddess may find a great read here in Cre8asite Forums called An Update on Updates for 2004
"There are a lot of new folks coming in who do not know what's happening, and there are others who do know what's up, but who are trying to speculate on what changes are being made a bit prematurely."
True Google SERP addicts can network with others like yourselves in Jan 24 What have they done now.
"Well written sites which have kept an eye on ongoing SEO issues should not or virtually not be affected. "
Well written sites. Could that possibly be the same thing as SEO Copywriting, which according to John Scott in SERound, is "dead"?
What is the difference between a well written site and one with 3000 sub-domain pages pointing to it? I dunno. Could it be something like unique content or useful purpose or originality perhaps?
The weekend at Cre8asite Forums contained some odd threads about how to do business. Turns out that being unethical, lying to customers, stealing other website content, intimidating, being ruthless, misrepresenation and biting the neck of all humans to drink their blood are all okay for one guy, who even posted his website URL. Would hate to be a client linked to THAT website roster! There are three threads on reputation, ethics, etc. in the Business and Marketing section. You may want to hold your nose when you read some of it.
Other:
Remove Fido now. Lycos Communities disbanded
"In a statement on its Web site the outfit explained: "After February 1, 2004, Lycos Communities - including Chat, Message Boards, Clubs and Image Galleries - will be discontinued. All text, photos, messages and other content relating to Lycos Communities will be removed from the Lycos Network and will not be saved."
It's a lie. I love my vacuum cleaner. One in three Americans hate mobile phones
And to think Bill Gates wants them all to have computers. World Population Reaches 6.4 Billion: What To Do?
Sir Knight Bill, by the way. U.K. grants Bill Gates honorary knighthood
This just in. A true link control freak. Exclusive Linking. Reminds me of the guy who wanted to pay up front to put an ad about his site on every page of my site. I never much went for those "give me everything you have exclusively" types. I like to play the field.
Which is why I'm Cre8pc The Sex Goddess.
I'm of illogical mind today. All I could think of were really sick reasons why anyone would want to use World 66 Visited States map. Unfortunately they didn't do performance testing I guess, because their servers can't seem to handle the load.
