We Prevailed. Suffice it to say that the Cre8asiteForums Team, from Host to Moderators, were tested yesterday. The "what could have happened" list of things was staggering, not only to the Forums but to other properties that share the server. I'm blessed to have such tremendous support for a Forum that went from a "wouldn't it be nice to have" to full-blown Internet presence in just 6 months. My hat (if I had one) is off to my Team.

"BloodBR", you lose.

Recommended to me by a business owner who was impressed by Google after reading it, I too, now recommend you peek at this article. It's loaded with inspiration, and an inside look at the company we love to be jealous of. How Google Grows...and Grows...and Grows

Quote:
"For Wall Street, it may be the IPO that changes everything ( again ) ... But Google is also a case study in savvy management -- a company filled with cutting-edge ideas, rigorous accountability, and relentless attention to detail ... Here's a search for the growth secrets of one of the world's most exciting young companies -- a company from which every company can learn."

Quote:
"One reason Google puts its innovations on public display is to identify failures quickly."

Quote:
"For the first 18 months of its existence, Google didn't make a penny from its basic Web-search service."

Quote:
"One big factor is the company's willingness to fail. Google engineers are free to experiment with new features and new services and free to do so in public. The company frequently posts early versions of new features on the site and waits for its users to react. "We can't predict exactly what will happen," says senior engineer Nelson Minar."

Everything you ever wanted to know about PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising but didn't who or what to ask...You'll find EVERYTHING in Peter DaVanzo's ongoing series of interviews with "three very experienced pay-per-click operatives" - Ammon Johns of WebMarketingPlus, Andrew Goodman from Page Zero Media and Jim Banks from Web Diversity . Click on >>> Pay-Per-Click Strategies for Search Engine Marketers

Today's Fanmail: "I thought cre8pc meant CRATE PC, as in stick that Windows computer in a box and bury it. That's why I joined the group." Dang it. He's more clever than I am! (For what Cre8pc really means, read About the Weird Name)

"The most successful SEOs pick and choose their own clients." I really like What SEOs Expect From Their Clients by Kalena Jordan. The article is refreshing and different than the SEO scam warning approach to this subject.

Smart move by MSN Hotmail... "Microsoft has limited the number of emails that users of its free Hotmail service can send, in a crack down on spam." Read more >>> MSN limits Hotmail service in spam war.

If only all wars were this easy to fight.

Meanwhile, in the lovely land of Sweden, they've figured out how to kill bugs with snow. Where I live, snow is used for skiing and doing donuts in car parking lots. Go figure. Click on >>> Scientists Kill Bugs

and finally,Le Funny SE

Lately I've been reading about how to relax more, how to put family before work/job (and why employers punish workers for doing so), and ways to organize my time better (I'm already pretty disciplined and organized) so that there's time for me.

Only thing is, to make these changes means sacrificing something else, or in some cases (like going home at 5pm instead of 7pm because everyone else is also afraid to leave), you risk the wrath of co-workers and managers. I work from home, and am my own worst boss. The stress of running a consulting business, large forum (Cre8asiteForums), a family, household, and managing my own Self has become surprisingly hazardous to my health. I'm so tense I busted a tooth in my sleep from clenching my teeth so hard!

And now, for more exciting, real news of some small pathetic interest...

Kalena Jordan has fun with title tag, um, title attributes...in her 24 March 2003 Blog entry. Read about and learn.

Chris Ridings is BETA testing a new tool for bloggers. Click on >>> Blogger (Internet) Explorer Bar

April Fools Day is around the corner. Time to do something totally ridiculous to my website. As if that's anything unusual... What will you do with yours that's silly and clickable? If you know in advance, tell me about it and maybe I'll give it a plug, eh?

Finally, there's some great feedback for a user who posted Optimized to Death?. I loved the subject title. You may love the advice she got.
