What To Get Me For Christmas....
It's time to put my holiday wish list on my refrigerator door and pay my kids their allowance for doing extra chores around the house (I'm overdue) so they can spend it on me.
Being a mom has its perks!
For me, there can't be enough books underneath the Christmas tree. I'm happiest when I'm reading, even if it's related to my own work. To that end, I offer recommendations from my collection. If you need ideas and know someone who wants to improve their website design, traffic, website sales, etc., please visit Usability and User Interface Books.
And what do I want this Christmas? Rest! A vacation from my computer. And lots of snow. I love to make snow forts...

When all else fails, create a new poll.
Sheesh, the news is boring or maybe it's me?
So, in desperation, I've created a new poll and question for webmasters over at Cre8asiteForums. Are website layouts too much of the same old thing?
One of my favorite books on making websites usable is "Don't Make Me Think" by Steve Krug. Although he sees the logic behind making websites somewhat standard so we recognize certain elements quickly, he also champions the cause for creativity and offers examples on how in his book.
How risky is it, REALLY, to move the search box to the right, or middle of a page?
Does the navigation HAVE to be on top, or left to be recognized as navigation around a site?
Do webmasters get caught in a rut born of a fear of change, upsetting the status quo or management decisions not based on anything but "This is how I do it and I want it done this way too"?
Is anyone chomping at the bit to see something NEW in web design besides more programming hoops to jump through?
We want to hear from you!
