Playing Catch Up
At long last I've updated and cleaned up the Free Manual Submission section of Cre8pc.com. Search Engine Submission
This section is where you can go to submit your Web pages by going down a list of engines and directories, and having the information you need, plus the actual Add URL link, readily available. Wherever possible I add news such as latest acquisitions, or price updates for example. There's also a page of additional resources, section for International engines and theme directories.
The goal is provide a place to either search (as in doing research) where all the top ranked search portals are gathered into one place for you, as well as offer easy access to them for submission purposes. I do my best to keep up with the ever-changing links (moved/dropped pages).
Hope you find it useful. Feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think I should add to it, or change, or fix. These things are always a group effort!

Is it SEO or just sneezing and hoping somebody says "Bless You!"?
My friend Phil (you can meet him at the Cre8asite Forum) doesn't think what some SEO professionals do is "real" SEO. Jill Whalen, for example, calls copywriting for Web pages part of search engine optimization. Phil says baloney. He thinks cloaking and doorway generation are ethical, necessary, and true SEO tactics. He's not alone. I've seen his kind on other forums. (Which is how I met Phil. I like to sleep with the enemy. So to speak.)
I think anything done to build a usable website that users can get to with a Quick Search, scroll down list, find accurate description, click and presto, you've arrived at EXACTLY what you want, is the result of "real" SEO. So, automated doorways don't often work in this scenerio. Unless it's a damned good doorway. They DO exist. But attention to detail and experienced search engine optimization for engines and experienced directory submission and experienced web design and experienced search portal submission ALL make up the skills of a good SEO professional. That's how I see it.
What are the tricks to make that scenerio happen?
What is "real" SEO?
Is there such a thing as "honesty and integrity" in the world of SEO? Was there ever? Will there be? Does it even matter?
We like to pull out our hair at the Cre8asite Forum. Come join us there if you like to watch others do it, or want to join in yourself.

Lycos follows Google Ads success
Lycos likes the idea of text ads, eh? With Google Ads pushing Overture over the cliff, Lycos is offering a keyword based advertising program, allowing advertisers and marketers to create text-based ad panels for display on Lycos Search and HotBot.
The company has teamed with FindWhat.com to provide the technology. Advertisers are only charged for actual clicks, or traffic, to their sites.
According to Tom Wilde, general manager of search services for Terra Lycos, the system is intended to complement rather than replace existing keyword advertisements currently provided by Overture.

You're Busted!
Did you know there's search engine SPAM police out there? Whaddy think about that? I know how a lot of folks feel. Many think it's about time submitters of mirrored sites are finally reported for cramming engine data bases with cloned websites. Others think we can do anything we want and the heck with everybody.
