Warmest Greetings,
Cre8asiteforums Follows as Search Engine Strategies Revs up on Day One
:: Monday, February 27, 2006 ::
In addition to the team coverage in various SEO/M blogs on the Search Engine Strategies in NYC, we have some running commentary over at Cre8asiteforums in the thread called Checking in from SES.
Moderators Bill Slawski, Rand Fishkin, Barry Schwartz (Rustybrick) and myself are here, running into each other, scooping up news, information and industry updates. There are record breaking crowds during a time when the Hilton hotel is having some problems with their water. Two hotels are hosting rooms to handle the attendees, with more walk-ins expected in huge numbers.
Tomorrow Bill is giving a presentation on Google patents - which he's famous for understanding and explaining to people like me who freeze at the word "patent". New technology by search engines is always news, and every day there seems to be a new way to sort and deliver relevant data.
By the way, as the new algorithms work and we begin to see different types of page results, you may notice that your search queries (the phrases or words you type into search engines) effect the kinds of results you are getting back. Type in your zip code when looking for antiques, for example. Or, pay attention to things like the sudden appearance of an image in the top left corner offered up by Google, along with your regular search results.
I'll be at the Expo tomorrow. There are several companies with products I want to check out. Remember last year and the ruckus over the scantily clad dancing girls? I wonder what thrills await us tomorrow?
