Warmest Greetings,
Sleep. Surf. Slog.
:: Friday, January 07, 2005 ::
Even the best zinc tablets - a mix of zinc, elderberry and other immune defense herbs, couldn't defend me from the sniffles, coughs and tummy ache onslaught surrounding me by family members. Soooo, in between sleep, fiddling with the room temps because I'm either too hot or too cold, trying to breathe and taking ginger for my upset stomach (if you haven't tried this, it's the best natural remedy for nausea. Even my kids beg for the ginger tabs), I've managed to prop up the laptop to surf.
The beauty of a blog is that it takes very little effort to keep up with it. As long as I have the strength to type in bed, I can try to post to my blog. But, since I'm feeling blechy, I prefer to call this slogging.
Two interesting finds I thought you should know about.
First, for user centered design folks and related fields, a new forum and new magazine have been launched. The refreshing approach to both is that they intend to provide a bridge between the East and West, for better international design. There is a Chinese edition and one in English.
See UI Garden. Choose your preferred language and either the magazine or forum.
Second, if you're into CSS, and either love it or hate it, this book sounds helpful. It's called The CSS Anthology: 101 Essential Tips, Tricks and Hacks. I've linked to the review offered by DigitalWeb.
Finally, if you need a quickie web site review, I've slashed the price on one of my test plans. See the press release, How to Improve Your Web Site Design, Sales and Search Engine Performance Plus Beef Up Overall Usability – On a Small Business Budget. I threw in lots of goodies for this test plan, and the overall review offers reassurance that you're on the right track, or suggestions for when you're not.
