Warmest Greetings,
Web Site Usability Course Now Available
:: Monday, June 07, 2004 ::
Are you are a web designer interested in building web sites that are not only user friendly, but incorporate loads of usability elements known to drive up traffic and sales?
I've written a course for the Search Engine College on web site usability.
Web Site Usability launches today!
Constructed as a self-study course, it allows you to learn at your own pace. Each week focuses on a different topic, and includes suggestions for usability solutions that you can implement with your own web site projects.
Lessons cover:
Why Usability? Gathering Web Site Requirements Information Architecture and Navigation User Interface - Standard Elements Credibility and Authenticity User Friendly Forms and Shopping Carts
Quizzes and a Final Exam, as well as exercises and assignments help round out the course experience.
This is not an advanced course. It's also written to emphasize the value of usability and how it relates to search engine optimization efforts.
Owners of home and small business sites will find a wealth of information in this course they may not have been exposed to before. It's perfect for the do-it-yourself web owner. Experienced web designers will love the support it gives them, especially in a work environment that pushes back on usability improvements.
The cost of the course is intended to be affordable, and the investment is well worth the time (which we also purposely tried to keep manageable.)
Please come meet the gang at the Search Engine College and look at the other courses that are available, such as Link Building and many courses on Search Engine Optimization/Marketing and Pay Per Click advertising. Learn how to polish our skills and make yourself more attractive to clients and potential employment offerings.
And, now that I'm finally finished focusing on developing the Usability course, I can entertain you once again here at the Blog!
And finally, check out Search Engine Strategies, London, 2004 - An attendee's view for reports on what happened last week. Rumor has it Ammon Johns (Black Knight) gave an excellent lecture on links building, for which many members are hoping to hear more about.
