Warmest Greetings,
Flash Usability
:: Wednesday, June 30, 2004 ::
Funny how FLASH still makes users shudder and designers curious. In Usability guidelines for flash, several suggestions are offered, with a bit of opinion to boot.
"I have only ever seen 2 sites using Flash where the effect was excellent."
"What about all the people with Flash turned off to save time?"
"To think that my valuable time is going to be wasted waiting for flash adverts to load is quite depressing."
Has This Happened To You?
Not only was his site dumped from Google, but from Yahoo! as well. To top that off, his Yahoo! Group suddenly disappeared and his domain name is sold by both search engines as a keyword. See >>> Site Disappearing From Google and Yahoo
"I took a number of steps (starting a blog, daily newsletter, newsgroup posting, weekly press releases, daily articles, joining a SEO group, hiring artistic and marketing people) that somehow appear to have backfired."
These Captured My Attention
1. Web Site Design: Usability, Accessibility, & Content Strategies - a PDF downloadable book available for US$5.
2. Bubz.net - "Is it better to spend on an ad that gives lots of clicks but few conversions, or one that has a few clicks, but converts all the time?"
