Warmest Greetings,
I Am An Orkutaholic
:: Thursday, January 29, 2004 ::
Question. What breeds faster? Rabbits or Orkuts?
Answer: Orkuts
When I was first invited to be a friend of an Orkut, I thought to myself, "Oh no. Another Yahoo! Group. More email. More clubs. More hours in my day blabbing with friends." So I waited. The pressure grew as more and more invitations to join came in.
Okay, I was born in the Year of Dog. We're very loyal. How could I say no to my friends?
So I joined by accepting an invitation from Bill Slawski, a long-time friend. Within a minute I also accepted the other invitations and in the next hour invited more of my friends, joined communities, indicated who I admired, who I trust, who is cool and who is sexy and I had the option to share a bit about myself and decide who gets to know.
An hour after that I realized that Orkut, which is still in BETA, may be feeling a bit frisky or is about to blow up the servers with all the attention its getting (since Google pulled it away and then threw it back out for everyone to play with some more.)
I think I found bug.

Connected with 10866 people? My Christmas shopping list is getting scarier by the second.
Okay. Onto some news:
Sincere CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Ridings and Crew at SearchGuild on their first year anniversary. It's likely not too well known that Chris is adamant about donating profits to charity. Well done.
In case you missed this one, this too is in BETA and also fun to play with: Knowledge Test from SEO Consultants.com.
If you haven't been to SEO Consultants lately, it's time to return. One look at the left navigation bar on the SEO Glossary page tells you this is a "must bookmark" site.
That wraps it up. See you in Orkut-land.
<<Added later: If you want to see something amazing, and you're an Orkut Blog member, join the Blog Community and watch it load the over 500 community members (at this second) at the bottom of your screen. It's a nice cheap thrill. >>
