Warmest Greetings,
:: Thursday, August 21, 2003 ::
What a week!
Let's see. Yahoo is dumping Google and returning to Inktomi's engine. True or false?
Some blog news to share. Loren's new BloggerTalk.com and, no, Cre8asiteForums isn't offended. See also her BlogSearchEngine
A blackout in NE USA. Earthquake in New Zealand. Peter's (SearchEngineBlog) fine. Sorry to hear about the DNS hell, Kal. Been there. Done that.
Put away your ballet shoes. Google's clock struck midnight and the funny little servers have turned into pumpkins and mice. (Thanks Peter. I was so busy I didn't even notice.)
New SEO/Rank Reporting tool >>> GoogleCount.com
"Google Count allows you to easily create reports and run them over and over again. Each run can then be analyzed against each other. This enables you to easily review your progress over time and see where you need improvement."
And finally, a tidbit for weekend reading from the great folks at Digital-Web.com. Content? Or Dis-content?
"Everyone wants to sever content from format without examining how that content is being changed in the process. Look at some of the cookie-cutter ways content is being published on the Web to see the result of thinking of the Internet as a content vending machine rather than a dynamic, complex organism that, like the Escher drawing, is really a hand painting itself."
Cheers. If you're lucky, I'll be back tomorrow.
