Warmest Greetings,
:: Friday, August 22, 2003 ::
I'm not sure how to explain it, but for months I've been feeling like I'm waiting for "something to happen". Talking with friends, it seems as though they're on edge too, but not sure why. Most blame it on Sept. 11. In seconds, the entire consciousness of a country changed forever. Millions of people. Millions of Souls. Some of my friends tell me they know other folks who "never get stressed out", but are feeling anxious and unhappy now.
It was comforting to see how well the people, especially already shaken up New Yorkers, adapted to the recent electrical blackout. Another good friend of mine saved a woman and her dog's lives last weekend when he was first on the scene of a bad car accident to take action. Would I have been courageous enough to cradle a dying woman's head and talk to her to keep her awake while pulling shards of windshield glass out of her face?
Enuf blab. Onto what you came here for...
It pays to be dedicated to search engine optimization >>> There are no shortcuts to effective SEO.
Will it be called Yahoogle? Froogle is going to have some competion from Yahoo! Yahoo to introduce Product Search tool.
"Yahoo! has revealed plans to introduce a new Product Search, currently in beta testing, which lets people compare prices and features on goods from multiple sellers and buy them on Yahoo - a similar concept to Google's Froogle portal. The company also appears one step closer to severing ties with Google, revealing that it has started Inktomi's algorithmic search technology, acquired last year, on parts of its websites in Australia, Brazil and the US. Google currently powers the algorithmic search results on Yahoo."
Seems everybody wants to beat Google. Microsoft to take on Google But, ok. It's MICROSOFT. They can't make a safe computer operating system. How do they think they can do search better than Yahoo! or Google?
Kalena Jordan asks, Are You Sabotaging Your Site's Visibility in Search Engines? "Does your web site contain any of the same self- defeating elements?" Check out her list.
Ok, so I can choose keywords "seo forums" and Google might suggest I also put in "Webmasterworld"? Not! This is interesting reading...
Internet Search Companies Could Face Fight on Ads "Google and Overture Services Inc. (Nasdaq:OVER - news) have in recent years seen explosive growth from their "paid listings" services, in which companies pay to have their ads run when Internet users key in certain search terms.
More recently, these companies have further improved their paid-listings revenues by suggesting customers bid on other key words, or by running their ads for free with related search terms.
For example, Google or Overture might suggest to an advertiser who pays to use the term "running shoes" to also add Nike, Adidas or New Balance to their search terms, to help them get more visibility. And on Google, the advertiser who bid on the term "running shoes" -- who could be a retailer, a rival shoe maker or a discounter -- might automatically have its ad appear when a customer enters the term "Nike running shoes."
"Arguably, (Google and Overture) are facilitating one of the greatest trademark infringement schemes ever perpetrated," Jeffrey Rohrs, a strategist at digital marketing firm Optiem and former practicing intellectual property attorney, told Reuters at Jupitermedia Corp.'s Search Engine Strategies Conference.
Google and Overture both declined to comment for this article."
Ok. So what does their silence mean?
And finally. Ron meets God in his backyard. Awesome.
