Warmest Greetings,
:: Monday, August 04, 2003 ::
I won't tell the whole story but Saturday was quite a day. My daughter and I fell in love with a puppy who wasn't what I was looking for and wasn't where I wanted to get one, but the end of the story is that we now have "Coda", (or Dakota, as some of us are calling him). "Coda" is a Dakota (Sioux) Indian term for "Friend", or lifelong friend or friend like brother.
Coda is a male, 11 wk old dark Golden Retriever. He's a good boy, already sitting on command unless there's 149 other things of interest nearby.
The cats think I've totally lost my mind.
Even better news is after having an intruder on my property and my neighbor's property last Tues and Friday (Friday was a real man-hunt with lots of police officers here, fingerprints, etc.) the description my neighbor and I gave was right on the money. Turns out it was a step son who was here for the summer a few doors down and admitted to poking around because he was "bored". Now he gets to do community service and have a Juvenile record. Oh boy!
A new feature has been added to Cre8asiteForums' "Blog is Not Short For Bologna" forum. It's called Blog of the Day. Check it out! And drop Bill, Peter or myself your suggestions. Bill chose Eric Meyers' blog for the first one. Great choice!
There's a new title out there for folks who are user interface testers, got dumped into the Usability Professional bucket, and can't live with whatever title they presently have, called "Interaction Architect". AskTog writes in It's Time We Got Respect:
"We must have a single, universal name for our profession, regardless of whether we are doing the interaction design of a traditional computer application, a web site, or a computerized product, from an oven timer to a jet aircraft.."
I don't mind being a Interaction Architect. It sounds sexy!
