Cre8pc office flooded...send Ark!
Days upon days of rain, and then a REALLY strange downpour yesterday, combined with some new fangled type of gutters the previous owner put on the house (which I just bought and moved into last month) led to a huge mess yesterday. I came home from picking up my kids from summer camp to find the new puppy and 3 cats watching the water rise in the basement.
My office was flooded and the family room and laundry room (the whole basement is a finished basement and made attractive for living in.) The sump pump couldn't handle the load and the new gutters couldn't route the water away fast enough. Water just poured into the house.
Family and neighbors were here until midnight last night helping us save everything. Even my pool overflowed!!! We're continuing to suck out the water and doing the fans, dehumidifiers, etc. stuff. Roads are closed around us too. It took Eric 4 different tries to get home when I called him to tell him the basement was flooded.
I've been offline and will be going back offline until this place is ok. We're expecting more thunderstorms today and every day until next week.
Soooo, yesterday was a wash out - ha ha.
Maybe a "real" blog entry tomorrow....
