Google Tango
They call it the "Google Dance", but to me it's more like the Tango, with twirling and a hand on a hip at just the precise the moment.
What is the Google Dance?
From Google-Dance.com - "The 'Google Dance' is a very important time for SEO's because it can give them advanced clues as to how effective their optimization methods are for the Google search engine. If the optimization is not as they anticipated, SEO's can redesign their layout, content, linking strategies etc.. before the next crawl. If the these thing were not changed before the next crawl it can set SEO's back by up to 2 months, which in internet terms is a very long time."
You can watch the reindexing of www, www2 and www3 - the latter two assumed to be test servers, or what I would call "Staging" which is a precursor to "Production" and the final rollover. The Google Dance allows a glimpse into the rank of a your site as it will exist until after the next crawl.
